Have you activated "follow system theme" at file -> office account -> office theme -> use system theme?

What is more clear? The office version years? The legacy mark? Or something like (not 365) :D

Confirmed this behaviour on my test machine. Thme switch is now in general really broken. The explorer doesn't switch and the taskbar only changes its theme after opening the startmenu....
