Ok, I have a proof of concept working for supporting authentication via PAT in #1384 The support for TFS2008 caused the call to _server.ConfigurationServer which then caused the you-are-not-authorized error....

There is no release with PAT, as the changes are not merged. The appveyour build of the pull request containing PAT is to old and the release artifacts are already...

Sorry, not without further information / logs. To me, it is not clear on what command you are missing, as it seems you already use https://github.com/git-tfs/git-tfs/blob/master/doc/commands/quick-clone.md
