Same issue with me, I hover the mouse over an unfocused window and it does not get focused.

I can reproduce this problem on extension version v8 (from AUR), I am on Intel Graphics, `gnome-shell 42.5-1`, Arch Linux. It happens everywhere for me. I'll update this comment once...

You could launch a new Emacs inside EXWM and make that floating? Idk if you can make EXWM buffers (not Xorg buffers) themselves floating.

EXWM is just a library that is added onto Emacs, so installing it without Emacs wouldn't be possible, because it literally is Emacs. But you could have a package for...
