I managed to make recording of the bug. It seems to be problem with w3m it self and fault is not on side of ranger:

I had exact same issue on Arch linux. It was solved by installing vulkan driver for my GPU.

I discovered that creating swap stops the freezes. Apps still crash but system will not freeze. They just die quicker... I still call it progress
