Well, probably the answer is to wait for the full [MIDI 2.0 spec](https://www.midi.org/articles-old/midi-manufacturers-association-mma-adopts-midi-capability-inquiry-midi-ci-specification) and support that. That seems the real future (and quite musically exciting)
