As mentioned in [comment](https://github.com/pytorch/pytorch/issues/28472#issuecomment-545425721), `.data` is deprecated in favor of `.data_ptr`. This requires pytorch 1.3+, see [release notes](https://github.com/pytorch/pytorch/tree/v1.3.0).
