I don't fully understand what you mean. Ventoy will list .vhd/.vhdx files, but will treat them as Windows VHD(x) file when boot.
`.vtoy` suffix is necessary. This is hard coded and can not be changed.
Which ISO file did you test? Did you checksum the ISO file as follows ? https://www.ventoy.net/static/img/filechecksum.gif

You must checksum the ISO file in Ventoy menu, don't checksum it in the OS. Please refer: #1997
