What happened?
Ventoy currently only lists VDI and VHD files that have the ".vtoy" suffix. It is even unable to boot an explicitly-set default image if it doesn't have the suffix in the name. I propose this filter is made customizable in the ventoy.json configuration file for users that prefer that all file types are treated equally.
I don't fully understand what you mean. Ventoy will list .vhd/.vhdx files, but will treat them as Windows VHD(x) file when boot.
Unfortunately not - Ventoy currently lists only {.vdi,.vhd,.vhdx}.vtoy and I'd like to disable this filter so .vtoy wouldn't be needed.
.vtoy suffix is necessary. This is hard coded and can not be changed.
Ok, but can you explain the underlying technical reason? Apparently these files need to be marked with a custom extension. But why wouldn't Ventoy offer any VDI/VHD(X) file for booting?
