Well, I agree it would be a much better solution. However, as you know, currently both of those "libs" reside in /Sources which means we can't manage them with composer.
Personally, I think it would be best to push this to alpha 4 when the other template changes are targeted.
Both 90 and 300 seem extremely excessive for a timeout. I'm not so sure about 5 either. Seems like a long time but I am not a JS guru.
