you can change language in the app settings
not sure if size can be the issue, try selecting some contacts and doing Share, then sending yourself the file. That exports them the same way.
even if you share just a few contacts, or not? Can you maybe check if it isnt one specific contact breaking it?
Try selecting just a couple contacts by long pressing, then using Share at the top menu. Does it work?
They use the same mechanism. So if you long press one contact, then click on the number in the top left corner to select all contacts and do Share, does...
no field is mandatory...

I want to keep it as it is for now. Out of those thousands of users, so far not a single person reported too agressive merging.
Im merging based on the full contact name, the logic is at https://github.com/SimpleMobileTools/Simple-Contacts/blob/f70428c556f78b36a31397bc21364ea05ca95f69/app/src/main/kotlin/com/simplemobiletools/contacts/pro/models/Contact.kt#L90 . Basically all fields are merged there. Prefix, first/sur/last name, suffix.
Sorry, but I dont want to add redundant settings for 1 person. It works just fine to everyone else.
