I've tested this library and noticed that the marker is rotating the wrong angle. 2 full circle to get to 360 degrees.

Can multiple markers be combined to one canvas? Making an individual canvas for each marker lags a lot when you have many markers.

I just wanted to confirm that the rotation is positive clock-wise relative to the +Y axis of the map-image, not relative to True North. For a Mercator projection these axes...

I believe that the icons are too big especially if you want to display many boats so the x_fac and y_fac are changed to options. This should also help with...

Nice little library! What about handling proper scale/zoom ratios? Screenshot example of zooming out:  (That's quite a big boat!)
