How do you use the BIO_s_mem(). Do you BIO_write() the packet payload into it or do you use something else?
The problem is how to check the nm output is sane and it is not the case that the symbol export is somehow broken.

IMO this is not a strict compliance issue as the RFC does not say the client MUST check this.

Can we add a testcase that would trigger this bug to evp_test testcases?
