This really needs to be done, IMHO.
Maybe instead of complaints and threats to stop using the software, we could provide patches and/or testing?
Personally I've moved on to https://github.com/Martchus/syncthingtray -- maybe give it a try. Just a suggestion.

I have been experiencing this as well.
If you re-base this to pull in the changes that I did to fix the travis-ci tests, I think it might pass the tests.
FWIW, I'm currently also trying to create a package for FreeBSD and running into some of these same issues.
Just looking to try to update the more "important" ones first, presuming that higher spread means more widely used which means more important.
