no, custom filter cannot be used for this. Backend selection is a completely different level of filtering than the attribute filter.

We haven't upgraded grafana yet to 8/9 and still stay on 7 due to various issues. But the plan is to do this within this year.

Where would you put that menu? Or would you simply show it only if there is no service menu already and then use the same place as the service menu?
