this has been reported to grafana last year with https://github.com/grafana/grafana/issues/70635 it's not datasource related, but a grafana ui issue. I'll see if there is a hacky workaround for this.

Seems like two things are going wrong here. If there is no multiplier set, it should behave like before. Also i'd say the unit should be added if possible.
