@motogon While this seems unrelated to this issue, how much RAM do you have? What hardware do you have?
@motogon which macOS version? How did you install monero? Can you open Console.app, click on Crash and see if there's a monerod crash report?
@motogon do you have some kind of anti virus installed?
macOS is killing monerod and I don't know why yet, I haven't seen this on other macOS systems before.
Does sync_info work? Also do you always have this behaviour with status or just now suddenly?
Is this on the machine with sync troubles?
We can try to update libzmq and see if the issue goes away. Would you run a test monerod with updated dependency?
Seems we already use the latest version, so that can't be it.
