Can't think up of a good use case for nested LODs. They should probably not be allowed. Good points about distance based and material lods. We came up with this...

It just showed me one result for the glTF Tools extension-  I did not have the extension on this machine.

@pjcozzi @emackey Do you have any suggestions/starting points on how a contribution guide could be written? The Cesium ones are great could we start from there?

It might be useful to include the merge/packaging workflow on the main readme so folks understand how the builds work and what to expect out of each end point.
