Interesting. Have you re-started IDE? Sometimes theme isn't fully applied before restarting IDE.
I see. I might get to it but not too soon. Therefore, I'll gladly accept a pull request if you have time to check it. See how it was done...

Yeah. Can not fix it until PhpStorm will see these as different types.
@dinbtechit well, extra tokenizing could theoretically be done in this plugin but I doubt I currently have enough time to implement it.
