Got the following in my kernel log when it froze in the menu: ``` [ 730.401301] NVRM: GPU at PCI:0000:08:00: GPU-a8fb3a3a-9dd5-b430-1b78-cb1f1ecd6079 [ 730.401308] NVRM: Xid (PCI:0000:08:00): 13, pid='', name=, Graphics...

It would be great if you could try the `VKD3D_CONFIG=force_initial_transition` option and report back if it fixes your freeze issues.

Yeah, it's a bit random. I'm back on RTX 4070 and reproduced it easily there. I don't know if it was just random that I didn't reproduce on 3070 last...

I was just about to comment that a fix was added in the latest beta driver. I don't know if the two problems are related, though.

Does the glitch appear often? It looks similar to the one reported in this Mesa issue: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/11550. If it's the same one, it should be fixed if you try with...

Thanks for the info about the settings. I was able to reproduce the glitch with an RX 7600 and Mesa 23.2.1 as well as the most recent (the older ones...

It worked fine on Arch Mesa (24.2.5) and I could reproduce the glitchy terrain on 24.0.5, so I bisected it and found the fix in [this Mesa commit](https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/commit/21f8410191378165219b3dbd6374064fc18a625c). Turns out...

Yeah, as long as you're on 24.1.3 or newer it should be fine.

I wasn't able to reproduce this with the 555 drivers on RTX 3070, so give that a try. 555.58.02 is the most recent I checked.

Huh. Strangely enough I also reproduced again after roughly the same number of launches. Thanks for the feedback. I'll switch back to 545 and poke at this a bit more.
