@yilei, thanks for the response. The [docs](https://black.readthedocs.io/en/stable/the_black_code_style/future_style.html) say "Black will split long string literals and merge short ones" and I think docstrings are string literals. Perhaps it could be updated...

BTW: I've found that strawpoll.com does embed nicely within reveajs slides, see [my example](https://reagle.org/joseph/talks/2014/exemplar.html#/strawpoll).
