HEVC can't be played natively. Assuming you have a transcoder, say with HW acceleration, that also needs to support HEVC.
I intended to get to this before the 7.3 release but a hotfix came up that'll need an immediate release. Moving this ahead but 7.4 can come earlier.

The upstream patch just got merged, we still need to migrate to the new version
Hmm so this is actually not in our hands, the patch needs to be used upstream (in `nextcloud/server`) before it becomes effective. Guess theres not much to do but wait.
Where are these sharing options you're referring to?
@Miswu13 this is unrelated. You are referring to _folder_ shares, where there might indeed be a bug (shared files aren't treated as special, so this could be non-trivial to fix;...
