Just wanted to add that I experienced this bug today. I initially renamed `wp-cli.phar` to `wpcli` for convenience sake. Up till now the commands I used (plugin/list|activate|deactivate, core/download) all work...

Looking at the syslog there are messages like this when trying to launch atom: Aug 12 16:51:34 host kernel: [19742.969706] traps: atom[1489839] trap int3 ip:55c856dc7627 sp:7ffef6244a60 error:0 in atom[55c854ea3000+5024000]
It is possible to launch atom using the '--no-sandbox' option: $ /snap/bin/atom --no-sandbox As a workaround I created a Bash alias: alias atom="/snap/bin/atom --no-sandbox" which requires that atom be launched...
