Chrome errors should be actual error objects. There was 1 more string that should have been an error. Let me find it.

Hey @lanesawyer! Storybook doesn't currently support Webpack 5. You can check out the ongoing progress in https://github.com/storybookjs/storybook/pull/13808 I'm going to close this up because the webpack 5 epic is #9216

@jordwalke are you still planning to land this (or something similar)? I've been encountering both behaviors you outlined originally and it makes editing in vscode with `formatOnSave: true` very jarring....
