Another very lazy way of "solving" this is using a recolour of ``cs-user-accounts``.

How about a simplistic approach as this one?  #5114 could be symlinked or slightly altered. #5349 could be implemented as this wire globe or a simple circle on top...

Will try how it looks with the axis upright.

Ah, it doesn't work with the axis upright due to the very reason of alignment. Strokes need to be 2px then which doesn't look good at all.

Got another idea I'll give a shot in the next days: latitude/longitude lines on top of a circle instead of a "hollow wire globe".

Found a way to simplify this a bit more.  Maybe the polar circles should be slightly bent.

I prefer lines on a solid circle, looks less busy and more like an actually usable globe.
