I also encountered floating underflow in this test in my testing of PR #2806 ERI_D_Ld9_P48x1.f10_f10_mg37.I2000Clm50BgcCru.izumi_nag.clm-reduceOutput

Reviewing the original PPE spinup and historical simulation in preparation for a new spinup (https://github.com/NCAR/LMWG_dev/issues/70), I'm seeing two code modifications that are not appearing in ctsm5.2.028. These were in the...

Looking closer in the latest CNVegStructUpdateMod.F90, it looks like maybe the changes were implemented in a different manner than in the last PPE tag. The only difference might be that...

I tested the differences in CNVegStructUpdateMod.F90. They affect simulations with biomass heat storage (bhs) both on and off, so I tested both in 5 year I2000 cases: bhs off: /glade/work/oleson/ctsm5.3.n04_ctsm5.2.028/cime/scripts/ctsm53n04ctsm52028_f09_bhsoff_2000...

The (very old) observations that the NCL-based diagnostics package uses are here: /glade/campaign/cgd/tss/people/oleson/FROM_LMWG/diag/lnd_diag4.2/obs_data 2-m temperature and precipitation (Willmott and Matsuura, 2000) UNH-GRDC composite runoff fields (Fekete et al., 2000) USAF/ETAC...

Jmax1 transferred from namelist to parameter file and made pft-dimensioned as part of https://github.com/ESCOMP/CTSM/issues/2831.

jmaxb0, wc2wjb0, and r_mort are now pft-dimensioned. I've run the following test subset with bfb results with ctsm5.3.002 (current base for b4b-dev branch). Derecho aux_clm: PASS Izumi aux_clm: PEND nohup ./build-namelist_test.pl PASS ./run_ctsm_py_tests -u PASS (OK) ./run_ctsm_py_tests -s PASS (OK) I didn't touch any python code. Will update when Izumi testing is complete.

I had trouble with testing on Izumi as jobs were dying for unknown reasons, and the STDIN jobs ran out of wallclock time. I'm not sure what that last problem...

I should be able to start this soon.
