Thanks noremacstew, this solved the problem for me too.
Just stumbled over that, I solved it a bit different than others and for me it took several workarounds here. Maybe someone finds this helpful since no fix seems available...
Used flatpickr too in the past, so far there was nothing I couldn't do with it.
