I am also hoping something similar gets implemented. And with that perhaps a few markdown features enabled, like tables, quotes etc.

You can use API to easily connect the two. If you selfhost n8n or something, it is very easy ;)
Gocardless also is an option for open banking ;) Not sure about USA though.
