Closing as wontfix, since this is a nonissue. If you believe my comment above is wrong please comment so that we can reopen this :)

I am adding this to the confmap milestone, we need to discuss if we want to change the behavior or if we want to make any changes on the Go...

This change is under a feature gate on the Collector, which is still at alpha. Should we post the announcement after we promote to beta? (i.e. enabled by default)
