facing the same issue too
having the same issue as you. all style and layout does not copy over well and when open the generated pptx file, microsoft powerpoint will attempt to repair the files...
can try this library, works well for me to replace texts in presentation while conserving the original powerpoint file template: https://github.com/CristalTeam/pptx
