having the same issue as you. all style and layout does not copy over well and when open the generated pptx file, microsoft powerpoint will attempt to repair the files but still the layout and styling breaks.

can try this library, works well for me to replace texts in presentation while conserving the original powerpoint file template: https://github.com/CristalTeam/pptx
