Ooh, good find. Thanks for diving into this! Nord is a sweet theme and it's nice to see that it's uncovering problems elsewhere.
IAM roles would be most helpful (for additional permissions beyond what's granted to the default role), either externally managed or as part of Up.
+1 Please document the license that this library is released under.
`line-smooth` is a nice CartoCSS way to smooth out jaggies. I tend to use it on longer lines and higher zooms.
`line-simplify-algorithm: visvalingam-whyatt` has also been helpful (and `line-simplify` is pixels in that case, i think) to further smooth lines.
@ericrodenbeck has a much better eye for these things (and has already identified a few places of interest), so I'm reassigning his way.
