yea it needs more investigation, I've tried it in a fresh symfony install and it works fine.

- i wouldn't expect any new release here. The lib is in a vegetative state without any release sincs 2020 - why would select2 be responsibe of jquery's deprecations? Update...

@mattneal-stafflink https://github.com/orchidjs/tom-select and https://github.com/Choices-js/Choices seems the best atm there is https://github.com/wolffe/tail.select.js but it seems unmaintained. None of them uses jquery

With the latest (3.5) release the attribute support is complete https://github.com/doctrine-extensions/DoctrineExtensions/releases/tag/v3.5.0

The fact, that there is not a single answer on this massive BC break shows that it's maybe time to find another lib for the job...
