There was a new controller that was overwriting original tags controller. I removed it and now adding tags works, you can rebase. https://github.com/mateusz-bak/openreads-android/pull/430

I like how the search works in the web version of Open Library. I search for Godfather and 1st result is in my native (polish) language. It's the same result...

I like option 1 - this works as I mentioned in the previous comment. For sorting search results - here I'm more sceptic as there are lots of "not clean"...
