For some reason after fixing the conflict in the unit-test header for batched dense the CI workflows are now checking out the right version of Kokkos to build against... well...
@cwpearson are you okay with this, can we merge?
value_type is an array, I think that's how it goes around that reference. One could certainly rewrite this bit of code to use reducers...
So with `Kokkos::Serial` as a backend the first case would now fence when it was not the case before. Would we have an option to get back to an "unfenced"...
That looks correct indeed, not sure how none of our CI ever complained about this : ( Do you mind opening a PR for that fix?
