This was correct until [this commit](https://github.com/googleapis/common-protos-php/commit/a8dcfd6a403053c6cac8e5b27a162f4a893ef744#diff-d2ab9925cad7eac58e0ff4cc0d251a937ecf49e4b6bf57f8b95aab76648a9d34), which references #7554. #7580 reports another issue with this merge, which was fixed in #7591.
For your use case, are you looking to add/remove an arbitrary number of handles, or are you toggling between states?
The behaviour is currently not something that can be configured on a per-handle use case. I don't think it would be easily implemented using the event system, either.
Hi! I'm glad the library is useful to you. The zoom feature you describe isn't directly a part of noUiSlider, but I think you could implement it using the `updateOptions`...
You can use the [formatting](https://refreshless.com/nouislider/number-formatting/) options to work on the slider in- and output.
