not reproducible for me, works as expected on my pi3 with master-branch (2.3). Did you check for error messages during installation? Also, did you try re-installing?

still, the source of the problem might be the same: mpc beeing send to "pause" on removal of card, regardless of current playing state -> you should check for status...

line 408 of playout_controls.sh uses `$AUDIOVOLMAXLIMIT` `\u201e3\u201c` means `„3“` (with fancy quotes) -> seems like a problem with the encoding of the file?
the most blunt method would be adding a pause command to the end of your rfid_trigger_play.sh: `$PATHDATA/playout_controls.sh -c=playerpauseforce` depending on your hardware, you might end up with roughly 1 second...
