I think that since the add method is run to add the configmaps to the local store then it triggers the update.
Hi sudermanjr. I submitted a merge request with a POC that works for daemonsets. I did it pretty quickly and surely can be improved, but I think it's usable.
It's a good idea to add some automated tests. I only tested manually but perhaps we could create a helm chart and do helm test. We could test happy path...
