I am not familiar with the service users, but as long as they only use content below the allowed subtrees there is no need for it. Potential candidates are 1....

The problem is that currently there doesn't seem to be a way to retrieve product profile assignments on existing groups. I raised this with Adobe Support in https://experienceleague.adobe.com/home?support-tab=my-cases&case-id=E-001581796&org-id=FA907D44536A3C2B0A490D4D%40AdobeOrg#support.
This limitation is tracked in the Adobe issue tracker with ADAC-633
