It's tested on super-old versions. My suggestion would be to bump to more realistic versions and do a major version bump of the package

I think it's because it's not in the root of the project. Could you try to move it there? If that doesn't help, please make sure it's not a duplicate...

It would, in some cases. There's been quite a lot of discussion and fixes for the Gruntfile path and right now it's actually supported to not have it in root...

Hmm, I see. Probably related to nesting but not really sure how and why. Might need to look through the code that finds Gruntfiles at some point...

Does it work from CLI? Can you post your Gruntfile?

What plugins are you using for grunt? Maybe grunt-contrib-requirejs ?
