Clicking on a new tab goes to the background

Updated using the link posted by @monque but was getting CRX_REQUIRED_PROOF_MISSING, so I manually installed and it's working fine. (https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-install-chrome-extensions-manually/). I'm using Chromium on *nix, so that might be why....
