If this happens, I would just turn it to Wireless Debugging. It might fix it. Remember root is usually buggy.

This could be a bug similar to how normal Google Play Store may not be the installer app, if using the Custom option. Did you use that?
Does this work on other devices? I have no root so this would be very helpful.
