I would change the behaviour when savemode=overwrite (or with a new savemode) so that the file contents is copied instead of renaming the file.

As a workaround I use tini as the entrypoint ``` FROM ubuntu:22.04 RUN \ apt-get update && \ DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get install -y --no-install-recommends monit tini && \ apt clean RUN...

Did you try rebooting with external drive disconnected?
