Ok, thanks. Hope they fix it, I wouldn't know how to report the issue because I don't really understand the background workings.

I just updated to Gboard 8.9.14.285858165 and checked again - all the words I mentioned in the beginning are working now. If it works for you too, then I suppose...

They do seem to take a little extra time/effort to load - I have to scroll forward to the end of the search results and make a slight reverse scrolling...
