@gmelikov Checked all that, still not working. I was thinking maybe the media keys use DBus instead of XCB, but I'm not able to test it because the older versions...
Tried that, getting the same 🛇 sign. When I tried removing the media shortcuts in the system settings, the extension worked - but then the media keys don't work for...

@danrabbit Right, I'm only referring to the viewer - the library can have it's own sorting.
The filenames originally contained numbers along with the words, but I've tried using only the words and still have the same problem.
It's happening only for specific words. If for instance I change "shhh" to "quiet", it works. Similarly, "hugs-kisses" in place of "xoxo" works - but it's longer, so I'm hoping...
That's weird, most search terms are (seemingly) working for me. Anyway, thanks for looking into it.
