The name org.freedesktop.Hal was not provided by any .service files was the error i received until i ran: `apt-get install hal`

Script doesn't work in ubuntu 12.04

after installing hal and having the script execute, i run `./usblock -a` i get: `Insert the device that you want to register...` which does not respond to devices being added
