There exists already an undocumented feature for that via an entry in a config file. Search the repo for ir disable you should find something.

If the camera was already hacked you don't need to rehack it. Just reformat the sd card and put a fresh folder from git on it.

Its not really that the card is written through but more that the file system may be in a bad state after a power outage. If a force update fixed...

No need to reflash. Just a fresh filesystem and fresh folder from git. Camera should open a configuration wifi now if you haven't set up any Wi-Fi credentials.

@kittenarmy I dont understand why this would be needed. Why does ntp not work for you?
