We can certainly try. Those look like line-ending clashes between CLRF and LRF and can happen sometimes when going back and forth between Linux and Windows. Has that been explored...

Turning VS Code into an option to install Windows version (that opens links to Code website and WSL extension) or install inside WSL with a disclaimer might be viable middle-ground.
