Version 1.7 1.9 is same as 1.5 Camera can scan the code from far away, but not from closer distances. Downloaded image does not work in "Scan image"-mode.
For me it was really intuitive to double click on the code and Ctrl+C to copy it. If this suggestion is implemented, do not make it a surprise clipboard edit....
Mint 19 has almost none wayland support, so it is quite safe to say that original poster used xorg. Ubuntu 20.04 defaults to X too.
