I saw something like this on iOS while testing an image message issue. I was getting tons of errors due to FastImage and eventually it became totally unresponsive. Not sure...

I also can't reproduce. I'm using an emulator but the behavior seems normal.

I wasn't able to reproduce this behavior updating from 2.2.0-alpha.1 to 2.2.0-alpha.2. I noticed slowness but it did update.

I think I need to pass this to someone else, running the app on a linux VM on apple silicon seems to have issues with x64 emulation. I can try...

Implements #1706

I added that pre-commit hook and it seems to have issues with linting on files that aren't configured to be linted. I haven't had a chance to look into it...
