I would verify your credentials and secret question answer and also make sure you are able to search players in the web app as well.

Are you attempting to auto-update some players but not others? If not, is the box unchecked in both the global settings and the individual player settings?

Try to uncheck the box in the global settings, and see if the issue still occurs.
